TitanRDM Documentation

TitanRDM is a Powerful, lightweight, and developer-friendly SaaS Reference Data Management system that lets users map, categorize, augment, bucketize, rank and organize data for data warehouses, data integration, data migration, regulatory reporting, config data management, metadata and even simple apps.

It gives your organisation a single, governed place to define, edit, version-control, and distribute the lookup tables and code sets that underpin your data estate — country codes, product categories, chart-of-accounts mappings, status lists, and thousands of similar tables that every business relies on.

TitanRDM works the way developer work - using private and shared branches for version control, deployment, promotion, and managing reference data. Every developer gets their own isolated environment to test changes without impacting production.

TitanRDM also easily integrates with all popular Data Platforms including Azure Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, and more.

Quick Start

Why TitanRDM?

Getting developers and business users to collaborate effectively on reference data is hard. Developers face delivery pressure and tight deadlines, so they default to the quickest solution — a CSV in a repo folder, an Excel file on SharePoint, or values hard-coded straight into a pipeline. It works today, but it creates maintenance nightmares tomorrow and locks business users out of data they should own.

These quick-fix approaches — spreadsheets, flat files, and hard-coded scripts — inevitably lead to the same set of problems:

  • Developers end up managing business data — reference data lives in a platform folder (Fabric, Databricks, etc.) or is hard-coded into scripts; technical staff become the only people who can update it
  • Schema changes break pipelines — a business user renames a column or adds a sheet in Excel, and an overnight pipeline silently fails
  • Tech team as middleman — business users have to raise tickets or send emails just to change a single value, leading to delays, frustration, and shadow IT
  • The spreadsheet goes missing — Dave had the mappings for regulatory reporting, but he left the company six months ago. Quick — hire Dave back as a consultant!
  • Version chaos — which file is current? v3_FINAL_USE_THIS.xlsx says it all
  • Ad-hoc data integration — data is exported, emailed, or copy-pasted into pipelines. No merge strategy for updates and deletions — just overwrites and manual repair
  • No single source of truth — different teams silently drift onto different copies of the same data
  • No enforced validation — a spreadsheet accepts anything; bad data enters silently and corrupts downstream systems
  • No referential integrity — hierarchies and crosswalk mappings collapse into repeated columns or brittle VLOOKUP chains
  • No audit trail — who changed what, and when?
  • No access control — anyone with the spreadsheet can edit anything
  • No collaboration — multiple people can't safely edit the same data set simultaneously
  • No version control or automated deployment — changes rely on manual processes to update files in the data platform, with no rollback and no promotion workflow

TitanRDM solves these problems by giving developers and business users a shared, purpose-built platform. Business users get a familiar spreadsheet-like editing experience with guardrails — validation, access control, and audit trails. Developers get version control, branching, automated deployments, and a full REST API/SDK for integration. The result is better collaboration, stronger data governance, and reference data that flows cleanly into every downstream system.
